Hope to see you soon with a new album as I work on another book. Remember to keep the faith, organize and be ready to vote blue in November!
There is a lot of unrest with the Supreme Court wanting to take control of women’s health and privacy. This is very bad news. And the war in Ukraine continues. With prayers for peace, love, equal rights and hope, we remain strong. Later into summer, we have some more shows planned that are quite awesome – more details soon! And with a touch of love and spring, many thanks for supporting live music, we’re looking forward to a great big summer hopefully of love and peace.
Happy Spring! April is National Poetry Month, Record Store Day and Independent Bookstore Month and we’re celebrating all 3! It’s also Earth Day! And we have special vinyl and the book, and some surprises. https://thecongregationdetroit.comThen we’re back with our full band and The Orbitsuns on Saturday night, May 14, 2022 at The Cadieux Cafe. http://www.cadieuxcafe.com. Happy Winter! We’ve been invited to do several shows this year at fantastic venues. And I haven’t written in some time for my blog. There has been energy moving this year for recording, teaching and bigger optimism suddenly. With very cold weather and some bigger snow in February, March could be cold but bringing it on to Spring. It has not been easy these past 2 years and we have all been through quite a bit of traumatic times, but also good times. I’m not losing sight to be grateful, but sometimes I wonder! To keep going is the main thing x
And further down the road into May, June and July and beyond, we’ll be performing at The Cadieux Café in Detroit, 20 Front Street in Lake Orion, several music festivals in the Detroit area/Northern Michigan area and a possible return overseas to the U.K. – and possibly some April surprises with shows and traveling!
Thanks so much for the submissions in this year’s Detroit Music Awards. Scott Dailey is up for Outstanding Guitarist and the Carolyn Striho Group is up for Outstanding Live Act. I’m happy to be considered for Outstanding Songwriter, Vocalist, Keyboardist and Artist. https://www.detroitmusicawards.net/categories-for-2022
It’s been one tough year again, but I’m really grateful today for our gigs and music this year. I’m also grateful for the Grammy Awards First Ballot nomination for my audiobook “Detroit (Maiden Energy”) for Best Spoken Word Album 2022. I’ve met so many singers, musicians and authors, and we did travel a bit for the book, too. And I am excited to be back on recording a new album with my husband and guitarist/songwriter Scott Dailey.
We lost some incredible people this year however, including my friend and promoter Pete Holden in the U.K. at the Isle of Wight Rhythmtree Festival. Rest In Peace, Pete.
2022 will bring some new music releases and also, from the way back catalogue of goodies!
So here’s to a better year, and for more compassion, peace and good health,
