September Harvest Moon bringing in music and books soon

It’s finally on its way! The new book, Detroit (Street Princess) will be released in late September with a soft opening, to some really nice book signings coming up in Detroit, Metro Detroit and Ann Arbor, Michigan. Grateful for the many great remarks on the book already – wow. Aquarius Press and I will also have a pre-ordering link on Amazon if you’d like to get an advance copy. More details coming, with links and more, and the first signings are here: September 28, 2019 at the Made in Michigan Festival in Allen Park, Michigan, then we’re moving on to other great places! While revising the cover, we’d love to include it here, but…shhh…almost here! There’s a fabulous week-long feature coming on NPR Detroit/WDET-FM 101.9 on Ann Delisi’s Essential Music and Culture Shift, the week of October 21st and weekend of October 28th. Stay tuned to 101.9 in October x /

We’re also performing this month the weekend of September 20th to September 22nd at Earthwork Harvest Gathering in Lake City, Michigan. This is one of the best festivals in northern and southern Michigan – in the region, really – and we’re honored to be back! we’ll be playing with the excellent Erin Zindle this year on several violin numbers on our set, and Carolyn Striho Group hits at 2 pm on the Cedar Stage, Saturday September 21st, 2019. If you’re up north, come on over and catch a spitfire roundup of wildly original bands, friends, food, drink, massage, Water Blessing, yoga, shops for vintage clothes and henna, and campfire energy xo

Stay tuned and check the Gigs/Shows Posting on this website, and on my Facebook Music Page (under carolyn striho) for all the info on the new book, Detroit (Street Princess) and super shows this Fall.

Love, peace, and many thanks,

We’ll be performing at 6:00 pm, and the Festival runs from 2 pm to 9 pm with Detroit Photographers and photography, music and food trucks. Free admission! Carolyn Striho, with husband and guitarist Scott Dailey, brought a more muscular rock edge to the Supremes’ “You Keep Me Hangin’ On,” blending nicely with Bowen and Mitchell and adding a bit of dramatic improvisation to the ending. April showering sun

Hail Spring! I’m happy to remind you of an upcoming live show near Detroit in early May. Mary McGuire, Chris McCall, Carolyn Striho, Scott Dailey, and Keith Malinowski performing Saturday night, May 4th at 8 pm at The Trinity House Theatre. Trinity’s an incredible music performance/showcase venue and tickets are selling fast. All info here at

More live shows to be announced soon!

Also in the works is another new U.K. tour we’re working on for next summer. We’ll be on the East Coast later in the summer, arm permitting. Scott Dailey and I have been on tour in Europe many times, and I have a torn rotator cuff injury after a violent fall on the ice this winter, so it’s making it a bit tough on live shows these days.

New Recording News

Yet, work is moving ahead on our new album tentatively called “14 Miles (of Bad Road)”  and it’s sounding really cool. It’s got a mix of organic fuzz guitar with blending of a B3 organ sound, but also, synthesizers and some surprising originals. Slated for a 2020 release, Scott Dailey and I have begun work on several songs and are working on finalizing writing on more tracks. Grateful to be back in the studio!

Also, I got word there’s a new vinyl release from Orchide Records of a new Detroit Energy Asylum album. DEA was a vehicle for my vocals, songwriting and musicianship for many years. Besides my many originals, we did several versions of some gorgeous cover songs, and producer and ex, Freddie Brooks and Orchide Records, have released a limited edition red vinyl of “Recreation.” Recreation features stalwarts Dave McMurray, Luis Resto, Joey Mazzola, and Wayne Gerard, among many others, including the iconic rock and roll poet and legend, Patti Smith.

New Book release coming this year

Also, my new book will be coming out later this year as part of the Aquarius Press/Willow Books “Living Detroit” series. Aquarius Press is celebrating 20 years of publishing, and I’m excited to be working with Heather Buchanan with my book. I’ll also be reading some of my poetry/writing at several events, too, in advance of the new book with Aquarius Press. Also, one of my poems is included in a Detroit/Michigan anthology from poet M.L. Liebler coming out this Fall on Michigan State University Press with a short reading by poets and musicians on Tuesday April 23rd at 12:30 pm at Wayne State University. And for more on Aquarius Press, please check
