Merry holidays…it’s cold outside! Many people are trying hard to stay well and do the best they can! So please be kind and patient. It’s been a super busy year with new music we’re writing and recording. Scott Dailey and I and the band hope to have a new album and music for Spring 2023. We have had music on several compilations in the last several years, my book “Detroit (Maiden Energy) book came out, and during covid, I recorded the Audiobook for Detroit Maiden Energy. What an honor to be back on the First Ballot of the Grammy Awards 2022 for Best Spoken Word album, too!
In 2022, we had great shows with Don Was and The Concert of Colors at the Detroit Institute of Arts, shows up north including Cheboygan’s Lark Theatre, Lake Orion’s 20 Front Street, Detroit’s Cadieux Café with The Orbitsuns and much more including more airplay on many stations. We also had several more Detroit Music Award nominations. Then there was exciting national news as L.A’s Music Connection named us as one of the country’s Top 100 Live Unsigned Acts! There’s some amazing shows coming up in July and more being added into August at this writing. We’re back performing at the annual Concert of Colors at the Detroit Institute of Arts with Don Was’ All Star Revue for an Iggy Pop 75th Birthday Tribute! We’re returning to 20 Front Street for a brilliant show with Mary McGuire and Erin Zindle in Lake Orion! Also coming up is a show at Lake Orion’s Canterbury Village at the Michigan Rib Fest and two shows we’ll be doing at The Lark Theater in Cheboygan, Michigan.

Saturday evening, July 23rd, I’ll be performing on a very special night with marvelous songwriters and friends at 20 Front Street at 8 pm in Lake Orion, Michigan. Fabulous singers/songwriters and musicians Mary McGuire and Erin Zindle (of The Ragbirds) are joining up with me, Scott Dailey and Ron Wolf. This is going to be a rare performance together in a midsummer night’s dream of music – join us if you’re in town!

My book, “Detroit (Maiden Energy)” is again being added to more bookstores and the Europe tour back to the Isle of Wight and to London, as well as Italy, is moved to the summer of 2023

Happy Winter! We’ve been invited to do several shows this year at fantastic venues.And I haven’t written in some time for my blog. There has been energy moving this year for recording, teaching and bigger optimism suddenly. With very cold weather and some bigger snow in February, March could be cold but bringing it on to Spring. It has not been easy these past 2 years and we have all been through quite a bit of traumatic times, but also good times. I’m not losing sight to be grateful, but sometimes I wonder! To keep going is the main thing x

New Year’s Eve 2021, our “Promised Land “ video was part of the benefit for Detroit Clubs who have suffered during the pandemic, including Detroit’s PJ’s Lager House, Northern Lights, Small’s Hamtramck, Magic Bag and more for the FEZ Fundraiser with many great Detroit bands. We had a great video for a local television Christmas show which is moved to the next holiday! That’s the usual for this year but we’re now working on a video and new releases for 2021. I’m glad to be writing from my little humble spot here in the world, warm and watching snow with a guitar and piano nearby. We’ve been on holiday break and students and teachers have been so busy remotely/virtually learning. My students are great and I’m thankful to them for their humor and insights!

We have changed some things this year and are still going. The woods and river up north and the city sounds and sights keep moving here in Detroit. I have more new songs I’ve written and Scott’s got some new pieces of music. Our band will be back with us in high energy when live shows come back.
