Andthere are some new shows to talk about for June in the next blog, both in northern Michigan and down here in Detroit. Stay tuned – these are some nice ones coming up in June at the Nor-East’r Music Festival and in Detroit at the Cadieux Cafe We’ve had good airplay in Detroit and through Michigan with “14 Miles of Bad Road” and hoping to continue it with the new “Blue Ridiculous Love.” Thank you.
And a new Detroit Energy Asylum CD is on its way. Detroit Energy Asylum was a collective of marvelous Detroit musicians. While I fronted the band, wrote most of the songs, and sang and played keyboards and guitar, we were a true force of nature onstage together as a unit and in the studio, if I can say so myself (thank you!) DEA was something to see and hear. So stay tuned for an update on this album from Orchide Records Detroit and Freddie Brooks. It sounds great and features David McMurray, Luis Resto and much more.
There is more to say, but alas, time is flying, I’m teaching and singing, and Scott and I are so honored to have so many special new songs and opportunities. Saluting the Universe and praying for peace xo
“14 Miles of Bad Road” is a bad ass rock and roll story that builds on guitar with a sneaky organ and and a bluesy vibe. We’ve got a counterpoint singing in the chorus and a wild fuzz guitar solo circling a wishful reminiscing and lost hope. Check it right here!
With Scott Dailey on guitar, vocals and bass, Lauren Johnson on drums, and me on vocals and keyboards, “14 Miles of Bad Road” was recorded at Inner Door Music and Pearl Sound Studio, mixed by Scott Dailey and Carolyn Striho and mastered at Third Man Records Cass Corridor/Detroit. And more releases coming in April, May and June culminating in a new album this year. Join us with a bigger bog update and more treats soon – new shows, and new video, too. Many thanks for listening – Happy Spring

There’s also a new album out that features the band I was in for many years, Detroit Energy Asylum. Detroit Energy Asylum’s “Landslide of Life” is a heartfelt, spirited album and I hope you might check it. With a stellar production job by Freddie Brooks, it contains ten songs, nine of which I wrote or co-wrote and with a cover of Iggy’s “I Need Somebody.” I’m on lead vocals, piano and rhythm guitar with Dave McMurray on saxophone, Luis Resto on keyboards and our wonderful cast of great musicians, including Jervonny Collier on bass, Vinnie Dombroski on drums, Randy Jacobs and Joey Mazzola on guitar and more. Here is the link to Bandcamp – https://orchide.bandcamp.com/
Thank you for listening, and I’m happy to be releasing the new music soon…it’s really coming, along with several Fall shows, too, that feel different. It’s amost as though a strange, new enlightenment is coming together.
