What a summer with new poetry and stories for the new book, and some brilliant live shows here in Detroit and Michigan
We were at Cadieux Café in Detroit with the full band, then I was asked to perform at 20 Front Street in Lake Orion for Steve Taylor’s Songwriter’s Night, and also at the Aquarius Press Table at The Detroit Book Fest in Eastern Market- thank you for buying my book and vinyl there, too. Then the full band performed at a sold out Whitney Mansion Garden Party in Detroit. It was a good summer for live music!
Scott and I were up in Traverse City, Michigan for northern Michigan’s KLT The Rock Station and KLT’s The Garage with DJ Terry Ray – a wonderful interview and music! Thank you Terri! Also, we have had some outdoors on the Muskegon River, down at Detroit parks and up near Torch Lake.
Onto Autumn, there’s a private very cool event in September downtown Detroit but private. Then there’s two exciting shows in Detroit in October – first, we’ll be hosting a Detroit Music Poetry Music night at Aretha’s Jazz Café at Music Hall Detroit, Thursday October 8th at 8 pm, with an awesome lineup that includes myself with Heather Buchanan, Tracy Kash, Mary McGuire and Khan Santori Davison with special guests !
Then I’ll be performing at the Frederick Stearns House, which is a beautiful historical building on E. Jefferson in Detroit, for the Wayne County, Detroit CASA benefit on October 13th. Details coming soon!
Scott is in a new round of treatment, and we had to bow out of several shows. Please pray for him, and hopefully he can join me on this Fall’s shows.
So it’s October, and September is flying by with good radio play on many stations, including WKLT-FM (KLT The Rock Station) in Traverse City, WAKT-FM in Toledo, Ohio and Harrisville Michigan, Ocean Beach Radio in Oregon, Farm Fresh Radio in Vermont and upstate New York and WHFR Dearborn Michigan.
And in late September into early October, I’m excited to be appearing on Michigan’s Sonic Coast radio and also, on WYCE-FM in Grand Rapids, Michigan. New music released this year will be featured as well as a new interview. Updates on that soon, too.
I also am appearing Saturday Nov. 22nd at St. Dunstan’s Theatre in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan for the Stewart Francke celebration show – details on that shortly.
And there are December holiday dates Sunday December 8th at The Ferndale District Library at the Sunday Songwriter Series at 2 pm – and also , Mary McGuire and I are doing a special show at the downtown Ann Arbor District Library on Sunday Dec. 15th at 2 pm – both of these are free and will be wildly eclectic and a lot of fun with special guests! Scott Dailey and Ron Wolf will be joining us. Details at the links.
Celebrating 11 years cancer free, I’m thinking of Pinktober…but I’m also thinking of those who are very close to us with cancer. We are lifting up hope and health and let’s get a cure for this dreadful disease!
