Thank you to “Blues U.K.” and Tony Corner in England for the airplay this month! We’re thrilled to have more airplay with “14 Miles of Bad Road’ being heard in the U.K, with Tony’s German station/show next!
One of our brand songs released this year, “I Will Rise,” has also made it to a new CD collection of songs! Thank you to Erik and Hudson Harding Music in Philadelphia for choosing this song for the new compilation/November/December collection. There’s some wonderful songs by our friends The Lucky Nows, The Rough and Tumble and Mike Ward, and more! Yes, it’s in Folk, which is one of our many genres of writing ) There’s a lot of great artists on the album and we’re in good company on “Folk Now.” https://www.facebook.com/hudsonharding
While I’m still down with my broken arm, my husband/guitarist Scott has had a tremendous health challenge. He is also hoping to be back performing with me next year. We have been through too much to explain on a blog and may start a Substack soon. And I hope to be back to teaching soon, too. The broken arm is more in my shoulder so it takes even longer to heal.
In the meantime, I am working on new poetry, compiling already-written poetry, and a hint at an autobiography for my next poetry book. I hope that makes sense, but safe to say there is another poetry book coming out with a special story or two as well in the book – so stay tuned.
I have rescheduled shows for 2025 and we are going to release a new album of material from this year with new songs. New dates are coming up on the website, and at Songkick, Bands in Town and Reverbnation. Excited to be back with some new Book Events for my prio book, “Detroit (Maiden Energy)” and also, our new music gigs
Thank you for listening and the support. Happy December health and hope,
Happy July! With a wonderful June of great gigs, traveling and another new music release, July brings more!

Also, at the end of the month our new song “I Will Rise” will be released on all digital platforms and will be part of the CD/album we’re putting together this Fall. The new YouTube video is almost finished and will be out the first of August, too. I wrote “I Will Rise” a bit ago, and am grateful to have it recorded at Inner Door Music. It was included in a PBS film in Detroit for “Those on the Front Lines of Cancer” and performed at The Pink Fund Breast Cancer Dancing with The Survivors’ show as well.
Check for “I Will Rise” here at: https://carolynstriho.hearnow.com/i-will-rise Featuring vocals and piano from me, Scott on guitar, bass and vocals, and Lauren Johnson on Drums. There is the new release on Bandcamp as well with Detroit Energy Asylum – if you read this far, you should really check it out if you can. It’s called “Landslide of Life.” What an album, and I’m so happy to hear that it’s out on Detroit’s Orchide Records. https://detroitenergyasylum.bandcamp.com/album/landslide-of-life-82-22
And grateful to be writing, as it has been 11 years since I had breast cancer. Sending strength to those fighting cancer, and all my best.
