Happy February! I’ll be back on Ferndale Radio for another shift in February, Saturday February 2, 2019 from 3 to 5 pm. Tune in if you’re in Ferndale at 100.7 FM, broadcasting live as always from The Rust Belt Market. It’s a great time to listen, or visit us at The Rust Belt to support their amazing vintage shops and Ferndale independent radio. I’ll be back in March, too, playing local music and new music, as well as favorite gems and undiscovered artists! http://ferndaleradio.com/
Scott Dailey and I will be performing with a group of riveting songwriters and special guests at The Dixie Moon Saloon on March 10, 2019 – come on down and check out fabulous songwriters, new songs and reverie in Royal Oak, Michigan on the Songwriter’s Series, 5:30 p.m to 8 pm, Sunday March 10th!
This spring and summer are promising several great shows, and we’ll be busy recording most likely in to Fall 2019. With a possible East Coast Tour and several other events in the works, the new EP or album may come out this time on vinyl, too. With working on the book, we recently saw and visited with great writers in Detroit – Josh Malerman (“Bird Box”) and Brian Jabas Smith (“Tucson Salvage” )- awesome times on hot winter nig
We had a super time at The UFO Factory in Detroit seeing and visiting with writer Josh Malerman of “Bird Box” fame with a lot of great music and his band The High Strung. We also saw friend and writer Brian Jabas Smith here at Bookbeat for Brian’s new book, “Tucson Salvage.” Then the Polar vortex, ice storm and more happened! It’s a good time to be writing, recording and teaching under the radar. An East Coast tour is in the works and a new European tour idea is being discussed. We’ll start back in the studio soon to finish “14 Miles” and start up several new tracks. I’m keeping a Fall 2019 or Spring 2020 release in mind for new music, but we are getting on a roll! So enjoy the winter, man, it’s cold outside – and cheers, remember People Have the Power, Valentines! xo
“Love the colour of your heartfelt voice, lovely intro on ‘Cornered Room’ great song! ‘Let It Go’ another favourite of mine, nice rapping, and love the gypsy feel on ‘Russian Inn’ beautiful violinist. Stunning album, love it”Wouter Kellerman
Striho continues to share her brilliance, effortlessly moving from bluesy and jazzy to belted out rock & roll. Her latest release, Afterthought, showcases all of these styles, along with a few more that might surprise people. The musical poetry is undeniably Striho however, and she manages to pull everything together with the ease of a seasoned pro and the flair of a master illusionist. She makes her own creative path and people can’t help but follow where she leads…Stacey Sherman
“Afterthought moves through a host of musical moods, from the moodier, darker vibe of the opening title track to exotic gypsy-rock feel of “Russian Inn” to the lively, driving sound of “Love Won’t Stay Close” which you can hear exclusively for now in this Freep First Spin debut.”Brian McCollum
