The gigs in June (to nearly July) were so good! Even with the hot weather and storms, shows at Nor’East-r Festival in northern Michigan, in Ferndale at the Summer Concert Series, at the Ferndale Library and in Detroit at The Cadieux Cafe were splendid.. Scott Dailey was back on guitar an vocals, with Jason Charboneau on cello and guitar, Mario Resto on drums, Ron Wolf on percussion and John Barron and Christopher Spooner on bass.I was back on my Yahama keyboard and was happy to be singing, and playing my Guild guitar, too. Nice interviews with Local Spins Grand Rapids’ John Sinkevics and WDET/NPR’s Jeff Milo in Ferndale also in June- thanks!
I was also over at the Don Was All Star Revue at Concert of Colors. Having played on five of the shows in the past several years, it’s always special and was grateful to be invited to the opening reception as well at The Detroit Institute of Arts’ courtyard.
The Detroit Festival of Books was really good in July, too. I sold many books and had a fun time in Detroit’s Eastern Market! I’m back own with my book in August in Detroit again at Eastern Market, at the Aquarius Press table –https://easternmarket.org
Scott and I have some good shows coming up. September brings us back to Dexter Michigan for an early evening show at the fabulous Barn! The date is Sunday Sept. 14th at 7 am sharp at Rancho Tranquilico, 11300 Island Lake Road, Dexter, Michigan. It’ll be a magical show! Michigan musicians love this house concert venue! We’re planning on performing some new music and have some cool prizes )
Thanks for the continued prayers for Scott’s health as he goes back into treatment soon again. We were able to move some shows around, and I have many poems and lyrics for a new book, with stories, Stay tuned to Facebook at www.facebook.com/carolynstriho and to https://www.reverbnation.com/carolynstriho to check out show dates and announcements as I attempt again late this year to get the new website going.
We got to Ludington on Lake Michigan, and to the River house on the Muskegon River this summer, and are planning a return to Italy next year for shows. Detroit Energy Asylum has released new material on Orchide Records Detroit – and I’m happy to say I’m quite busy working on new songs myself and with Scott.
Prayers for peace in the world, and to your good health.
We’ve been all over this year from Detroit down to St. Petersburg and Treasure Island in Florida, and back in Michigan from Traverse City to Grand Rapids to Ann Arbor and back up near Big Rapids and Cadillac, Michigan. I’ve been teaching down here every day and working on new poetry and compiling some really cool stories of my music life. It’s a lot to work on a new book, but I found even more poetry from many years. This could be an adventure and I hope I get there with the new book. Scott has been undergoing treatments but his health is stabilized even with these strong treatments. We are grateful and hope things continue to improve. He will also join me on the new shows this month. He is hoping to finish some new songs as well.
So here we are with new June shows with the full band too!

While I’m still down with my broken arm, my husband/guitarist Scott has had a tremendous health challenge. He is also hoping to be back performing with me next year. We have been through too much to explain on a blog and may start a Substack soon. And I hope to be back to teaching soon, too. The broken arm is more in my shoulder so it takes even longer to heal.
In the meantime, I am working on new poetry, compiling already-written poetry, and a hint at an autobiography for my next poetry book. I hope that makes sense, but safe to say there is another poetry book coming out with a special story or two as well in the book – so stay tuned.
I have rescheduled shows for 2025 and we are going to release a new album of material from this year with new songs. New dates are coming up on the website, and at Songkick, Bands in Town and Reverbnation. Excited to be back with some new Book Events for my prio book, “Detroit (Maiden Energy)” and also, our new music gigs
